On Monday the Greek America Foundation organized a kick off event for the 2nd Gabby Awards. The Gabby Awards are set to take place on June 4th, 2011 on Ellis island. The evening started with a presentation titled “Hellenism & Hollywood” by President and CEO of Fox Films Jim Gianopulos at New York’s IFC Center. Guests then went to Soho for a glamorous after party at the Red Bull Space. Attendees included Olympia Dukakis, John Varvatos, Theo Alexander, John Varvatos, Anna Vissi, Patricia Field, Kalomoira and many more.
The Gabby Awards take place every two years. The awards ceremony was established in 2009 and first took place in Chicago. Celebrating Greek America’s best and brightest stars, the Gabby Awards represent the excellence and accomplishment of Greek Americans. It awards those who have excelled in every category and discipline and have become a part of the American mainstream, while maintaining a close connection to their cultural heritage.
